so yesterday me and rob went to my appointment together. i asked him if he was excited and he said "yeah...but you know how i am." and i was like, "how are you?" and he said "i don't really act excited about things even when i am." anyway we waited around in the office for like, ever and then they finally took us back. i didn't realize but it was scheduled to be an hour long ultrasound!! that seems like a very long time, but it went by so quickly. the first thing the tech asked was if we wanted to know the sex so she wouldn't tell us by accident and we said yes!! she spent a lot of time taking pictures of and measuring things like the skull, the neck, the spine, arms, and legs. she took pictures of the stomach and the kidneys and the heart. she said everything looked good. the baby was moving around a ton and she kept sucking her thumb and covering her whole face with her hands (and when she turned and looked at us and we saw her face i could TOTALLY understand why! lol). she even got the hiccups. somewhere in the middle of all this picture taking she said "its a girl!!" as an avid reading of pregnancy books and lj pregnancy comms i knew to look for the 3 lines so i asked about them and she showed them to me VERY clearly and its DEF A GIRL!!!!!!! i was SO SO SO SO SO happy i started crying (and later rob told me his eyes got teary too but that i can't tell anyone). then during the rest of the scan she would keep pointing out the lines. i can't believe we are having a girl. i am beyond thrilled. i was so sure it was going to be a boy and i kept trying to make myself accept it and be happy with it but now i'm just elated!!!

when she got everything she needed she printed out a few pictures for us (none of the lines unfortunately). two are cute profile shots and one is a terrifying shot of the face which makes it look like there is a demon baby in there. its so creepy and gross. when i showed it to my little brother he said we should have used it on our xmas cards to freak peeople out. we started calling people right away. we told my mom, robs mom, robs dad, sarah, and elisa. then we went back to my dads house to pick up the dogs (kasha had a physical at the vet in the morning before my appointment so we had taken the dogs to arlington and left them with my dad while we went to my appointment). we told my dad and though he isn't being a jerk anymore he still isn't all that into baby stuff so he basically said thats good and moved on to talking to rob about some project. everyone else was thrilled for us esp robs mom who really thought it would be a boy. she has 5 brothers and 3 sons and really wanted it to be a girl but never thought it would be happen so she is really happy and she took us out to dinner.

after dinner we went to robs brother mikes place and hung out with him and pete and nolan and one of mikes roommates and played buzz. i hope they are good uncles eventually! anyway i am just so happy and now i really, REALLY can't wait to just have the baby already. 9 months is WAY too long to wait for something i want so badly!!!!
